In addition to my counselling and psychotherapy I am also the author of several books on relationships and sexuality. Some of these are Relate guides. See the My Books page for more detail: My Books
I have also written for most national newspapers and magazines, including The Times, The Daily Mail, The Guardian and The Express. I have been an ‘Agony Aunt’ for several magazines, including The Sunday Express, Essentials and Candis. I am available for commissioned articles and items. Please contact me directly or via my agent Juliet Pickering, at Blake Friedmann. Email: email@example.com .
I am also available for public speaking engagements. As National Media and Press Officer for Relate I represented Relate at numerous events, including the Oxford Union Debate at Oxford University entitled, ‘It’s Good to Talk’, where I was teamed with Maureen Lipman. As Development Director for The Pennell Initiative for Women Health I was privileged to address a world conference on ‘Women and Poverty’ as an affiliate member of The Cabinet Office Women’s Unit, for the government (2002). I have also spoken at many seminars and conferences on issues connected to relationships and sexuality, including an educational conference in Dublin, a BACP conference and many other venues around the UK.
I have broadcast regularly on national TV and radio. This includes the BBC1 ‘Breakfast Show’; BBC1 ‘Test the Nation’s Relationships’ with Phillip Schofield and Anne Robinson; and Radio 4’s ‘Today’ programme.
In 2013 I worked with Laurence Boswell, the director of ‘50 Words’, a play at Bath Theatre Royal on the effect of affairs on a marriage. In addition to writing the programme notes I took part in an audience Q & A session after a performance.
